In 2020, Squarespace made a significant commitment to cultivating an organization that is as diverse as the customers it serves. The company seeks to intimately understand the multifaceted cultures and identities those customers represent and create products that mirror their many dimensions.
The company has been active in their D&I efforts for a number of years, establishing a formal D&I function in 2017, with steady progress being made over time. The D&I function is directly supported by 18 ERGs (Employee Resource Groups) and a dedicated staff of two (a program manager and a full time role to support the ERGs); The function is indirectly supported by the rest of the People team, including experts in employer brand, internal communications, learning & development, analytics and much more.
Squarespace’s D&I efforts only continue to grow in importance and the company is focused on accelerating progress in this space. Compounded with the recent events of 2020, the company made an even more significant commitment to improving its efforts,at which point the decision was made to expand the focus on D&I to include a broader CSR effort and build a truly integrated function.
To expand upon and accelerate momentum with our D&I strategies, we are in search of a new Director of Diversity, Inclusion, and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to help us lead these efforts going forward. You will report to our Chief People Officer and be based in our New York headquarters once our offices reopen. In the interim, all global employees are working remotely.
