The Supply Chain Operations Analyst supports the overall supply chain process as a liaison with various departments across the organization and is responsible for driving financial results through optimal flow of product to the ships in the most cost-effective manner. Key responsibilities include completing detailed analyses of sales, on-board inventory, and inbound/allocated inventory by ship to identify risks and opportunities, recommending actions to maximize sales and profitability; maintaining the ship day-by-day itinerary and proposing the appropriate cadence of ship deliveries; and approving air-shipment, off-load, and ship-to-ship transfers to maximize inventory productivity.
What you’ll be doing:
Liaison with Cruise Line Retail, Store Planning & Design and the various departments within Logistics: Transportation, Warehouse Inbound/Outbound & Customs Document Center; collaborates cross-functionally to resolve issues including setting the prioritization of inbound purchase order processing based business need, consolidating shipments to optimize transportation expense, and reviewing ships’ deliveries to ensure appropriate arrangements made for any shipments that would create a significant receiving/storage concern for the ship. Recommends procedural changes, as applicable, to improve processes. 20%
To maintain proper product flow to the ships, proactively identifies ships with projected overstocks or stock-outs through ad hoc detailed analysis, making recommendations on actions such as markdowns, off-loads/transfers, adding product to air-shipment, re-directing orders, and/or order qty adjustments. 20%
Initiates or evaluates requests for air-shipments, ship to vendor/warehouse offload (RL) and ship to ship transfers, approving based on cost/benefit analysis and available expense resources. Coordinates execution between MP&D, Cruise Line Retail, and Logistics. Prepares and submits departmental chargebacks to finance as approved and provides a forecast to support the creation of the annual expense budget for these activities. 15%
In partnership with logistics and operations, creates and maintains the voyage daily calendar. Recommends corresponding delivery schedules to optimize product flow and cost-efficiency with added complexity for those ships moving throughout the world due to considerations around varying lead-times, freight/port agent expense, flexibility of port agent, and port safety 15%
Coordinates the set-up of new ships with logistics and operations support. Creates a tracker to ensure the initial deliveries are the appropriate quantities and arrive on time. Also participates in a cross-functional team managing the close-down process of ships, responsible for providing guidance on decisions to transfer vs markdown, determining the ideal receiving ships to off-load product to, and analyzing sales/stock of impacted ships to proactively identify any concerns to action. 15%
Maintains the merchandising & planning hierarchies, including creation/modification of categories, subclasses, brands, etc.
